Info about Jump Rope

Precision skipping is a competitive sport with regional, national and world competitions. It consists of individual and team, single rope and double dutch events, including freestyle and power  (doubles & triples) events.

Jumping rope is a great cardiovascular workout, second to swimming, it is the best exercise you can do for your heart, since you simulate running with arm movement.  With a burn rate of up to 1300 calories per hour of vigorous activity and about 0.1 calories consumed per jump, ten minutes of jumping rope is roughly the equivalent of running an eight-minute mile. Jumping rope for 15-20 minutes is enough to even burn off the calories from a candy bar. Studies have shown that jump rope enhances brain development - overall the benefits of this sport are from head to toe!
